Rare John Pollex Studio Pottery Sculptural Vase Colin Pearson Interest 1970’s
A Brilliant John Pollex Studio Pottery Sculptural Vase with Matte Glaze. A very rare piece produced by John Pollex. Very possibly drawn on influence from time working as assistant to his mentor Colin Pearson. The pot is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. May show slight signs of but minimal wear to the base. Please see images which make up part of the description. Apx 24cm in height. John Pollex studied at Sir John Cass in Whitechapel from 1966-68; he went on to become Technician at Harrow College of Art during 1968-70. After Harrow he became assistant to Bryan Newman and Colin Pearson until 1971. He moved to Plymouth in the autumn of 1971 establishing a studio and gallery in the historic Barbican area. In 2000 he moved his studio to his house from where currently works.
