Stanislas Reychan was born in Vienna in 1897, the son of a Polish father and an Austrian mother. During the Second World War, he fled to Hungary, then Paris, before joining the Polish Army in the UK, deciding to stay here after being demobbed in 1949.
A lovely mug, hand-built by Frederick Cox Jolliff with lovely variegated turquoise glazes. Incised on the base Hand Made by Jolliff with his monogram, and dated 1926 I think.
