The vase is finished in a celadon glaze with highlights of ash glaze (Nuka). It has a strong Japanese feel. The vase is signed with the potter’s impressed stamp. He then attended Craft Council’s Pottery Skills Course in Republic Ireland where he trained for a further two years.
A very fine and large studio pottery stoneware bottle vase by leading British potter Jim Malone. Potter’s personal and pottery (Ainstable) marks to the foot. Incised decorated and ash glazes. Excellent condition, as new.
