These three rectangular vases are really nice examples of Louis’s early work made in Porthleven, Cornwall, after he had left Alan Wallwork in London. Each is made from coils and the biggest is over 6 (15cm) tall. One is inscribed Lh with the other two bearing his impressed mark. None have any damage or repairs.
This stoneware jug is wheel-thrown, decorated, and wood-fired, bringing out the complexity of the ash glazed surface.
