A division of Garfinckels, America’s Store. Blue stripes on brown body. Kanji markings on botom. An extremely nice example of Mid Century Modern studio pottery, this tall Asian redware vase is 11.75 takk and features blue vertical stripes around a milk chocolate brown body. Signed in Kanji on the bottom. The inside of the vase is finished in the same brown glaze, no stripes or other colors. Condition Notes : Very Good estate condition. Plese note in our photo #5, we show a closeup of the body: the vase has these dark marking that look like dirt in this area near the bottom, and they are also on the inside of the vase. Marks on the inside of the vase might be confused as some sort of a hairline crack but we checked carefully – it’s a discoloration of some sort to the surface of the glaze and is not any kind of crack. We also note that there are two tiny paint spots (less than 1/8) that looks as if someone re-secorated a room and forgot to take the vase out before they started painting. Otherwise, we find no chips, cracks, or damage. Please note that our pictures are part of the description. Measures : Approx 11.75 tall. Top rim is 3.75″ and the base 3.75″.
