Ceramic Bottle Vase, Signed. Large, beautiful bottle shaped vase by the Italian master potter, Marcello Fantoni. From the 1950s or 1960s. The body has an ochre background decorated with continuous images of stylized robed figures. The upper portion has an medium dark orange background and contrasting stylized trees with foliage in the same colors of the lower body. The teal tree trunks extend into the lower body, separating the figures. The exterior is finished in a matte glaze. The interior has a glossy red glaze with patches of white. The white spots in images DO NOT represent chips, the color is under the glaze. The vase and painted surfaces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or paint loss. Around the rim of the underside, there is light surface wear consistent with age and use. Signed on the underside. There are remains of a label or price tag above the signature.
