Peter Sparrey Large Lidded Pottery Jar 21 Cms
A substantial lidded jar by the excellent British potter Peter Sparrey, Herefordshire. A deep speckled moss-green glaze shading to a tenmoku towards the base. Chun blue glaze inside and on the underside of the lid. Very finely controlled and beautiful glazes. The glossy deep green glaze is quite hard to photograph accurately. The first photo best conveys the true colour. Potter’s mark to side of base. Height 21 cms, width 20 cms. Used only for display.
