Joan Romero Carrillo Studio Pottery Lustre Vase. An eliptical horned vase with three colour lustres and high relief enamel on a black frit. Signed on the foot. He has been internationally exhibited and is renowned for his skill in applying metal oxides to create the lustres. The islamic and African influences on the design are obvious but I cant help but think of Flash Gordon movies. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971. My career took a leap forward when I joined Bonhams in 1976. Some five years later I became head of the Decorative Arts department.
