Vivienne trained at Camberwell College of Art in the 1970’s in ceramics and silversmithing, with drawing a strong influence throughout the course. She divides her time between lecturing part-time at West Herts College and working in her studio in Barnet. Vivienne’s ceramics are hand made, thrown and turned on a wheel and slab built. Fired to 1260C in an electric kiln finished with satin glazes in white, black, grey and turquoise, often with accents of re-cycled glass. Vivienne’s influences come from her love of the sea, swimming, and being outside with nature, and sketching. She tends a large garden and two allotments. The produce of which complements her ceramics perfectly. Trained at Camberwell College of Art. Lecturer at West Herts College. Member of London Potters, Anglian Potters, Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild and the Barnet Guild of Artists where her work is exhibited regularly and in various galleries. Vivienne Rodwell-Davies produces an individual range of functional stoneware and porcelain ceramics, both thrown and handbuilt. She combines strong tactile shapes with silky glazes – black, white and soft greys with accents of recycled glass.
