Rare 1967 Derek Clarkson Studio Pottery Stoneware High Fired Cobalt Glaze Moon Vase. A superb early example from 1967 in lovely condition by the highly respected Derek Clarkson. Impressed stamp to base. Clarkson trained at the Manchester College of Art, then progressed to become Senior Lecturer in Ceramics at the Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University. In 1962 he became a full member of the Craftsmen Potters Association of Great Britain. One of the potters representing Great Britain at the International Academy of Ceramics Exhibition, Geneva. His 1965 work was included in the Design Council’s Craft Index. His work also features in the ceramics gallery at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
