Rare Erotic Art Studio Pottery Nude Woman Breast Feeding Cat Bowl Pablo Picasso
A Wonderful and Bizarre! From the outside, this appears as a somewhat ordinary and unassuming little art pottery bowl. A look inside however reveals quite a surprise! A nude female is depicted breast-feeding an appreciative black cat! After this revelation, one quickly realises this is in fact a very good quality bowl – beautifully thrown of conical form and, unusually, from white earthenware. The scene itself is brilliantly and deftly drawn in sgraffito, over a black base and against a gleaming, high-gloss terracotta ground. The face of the woman, depicted in profile like this, the spontaneous drawing and indeed the use of white earthenware bring to mind the work of the great Spaniard, Picasso. It is however completely unsigned and with no maker’s mark. Approx 12 cms diameter x 6.5 cms high. All items are packed with care, to a high standard and sent via tracked and signed for courier.
