Vintage Hand-Painted Studio Pottery Vase from Mallorca (Felanitx, Spain). A striking vintage ceramic bottle vase featuring a bold geometric design in mustard yellow and deep green with hand-painted black grid lines over a white glaze. The tall cylindrical form and abstract decoration give the piece a distinctive modernist / mid-century inspired aesthetic. The base is hand-marked C. Mallorca – Felanitx”, with an additional decorator’s signature and the mark “XX. Felanitx, on the island of Mallorca, Spain, has been a historic centre of pottery production for centuries, with many small workshops producing hand-thrown and hand-decorated ceramics. This piece is an example of Mallorcan studio pottery, most likely dating from the 1970s-1980s, when modernist decorative ceramics became popular and craft workshops supplied galleries and art shops across Mallorca.
