A Nic Collins (born 1958) wood fired stoneware bottle vase, 27cm tall, incised signature to base. There is a small area of loss to the end of one of the brown glaze trails (see last photo), otherwise in very good condition – please see all photos for confirmation.

Rare form diamond facet press mold bottle vase made in Mashiko, Japan, by Living National Treasure Shimaoka Tatsuzo. Ochre slip covered and glazed in tenmoku and nuka in the manner of Hamada Shoji.
The vase is finished in a celadon glaze with highlights of ash glaze (Nuka). It has a strong Japanese feel. The vase is signed with the potter’s impressed stamp. He then attended Craft Council’s Pottery Skills Course in Republic Ireland where he trained for a further two years.
