A really beautiful piece, fashioned in pale stoneware with a slightly squared form. With stylised geometric design repeated around the body. Finished in a combination of matt, enamel and lustre glazes. 12.0cm diameter x 11.0cm deep.
Mike Dodd Studio pottery Chawan / bowl with running bronze coloured glaze decoration #2654. The bowl is free from damage with no chips, cracks, repairs or renovation. The impressed Personal mark for Mike Dodd is impressed centrally in the base ring. It is readable from different directions though it is covered by glaze.

I’ve been lucky enough to be able to look at and handle a number of Mr Matsuzaki’s shino wares now and this is one of the best of his shino tea bowls that I’ve seen. The white glaze crawls are thick and highly tactile.
