I’ve been lucky enough to be able to look at and handle a number of Mr Matsuzaki’s shino wares now and this is one of the best of his shino tea bowls that I’ve seen. The white glaze crawls are thick and highly tactile.
The set consists of a Teapot and a Fairness jug both holding approximately 300ml with six cups holding approximately 50ml. Unlike most sets the pieces are not moulded, they are individually hand-thrown and textured on the wheel. The set is decorated with coloured slips and a wood ash green glaze making each piece totally unique. […]

Stoneware, unglazed and subjected to a lengthy wood firing. Very good colour and variation of surface, with four fairly distinct “faces” showcasing different effects. Excellent condition, as new. With wrapping […]
Phil Rogers Chawan with Chrysanthemum decoration. Signed with his impressed potters mark. Nice chawan / tea bowl typical of his style. 10 cms in diameter. 9.5 cms height. No scratches, chips or cracks – the graze is crazed as is more often the case than not but it doesn’t detract from the piece – see […]
