Stanislas Reychan was born in Vienna in 1897, the son of a Polish father and an Austrian mother. During the Second World War, he fled to Hungary, then Paris, before joining the Polish Army in the UK, deciding to stay here after being demobbed in 1949.

A good modernistic ginger jar by self taught potter Alan Spencer Green, renowned for his porcelain pieces. Some small scuffs/scratches to one side and other minor wear. 18cm high Inscribed ASG to the base.
The vase is finished in a celadon glaze with highlights of ash glaze (Nuka). It has a strong Japanese feel. The vase is signed with the potter’s impressed stamp. He then attended Craft Council’s Pottery Skills Course in Republic Ireland where he trained for a further two years.
