Gorgeous Mid Century Modern Studio Pottery Vase Drip Glaze 16 Mark Beautiful Art
For sale is a stunning premium vintage midcentury possibly West German studio art pottery vase. This piece features a distinct squat, four sided bulbous form resting elegantly on Four small corner feet. This vase features a spectacular multitoned glaze design. A rich, glossy turquoise and ocean blue ground is beautifully overlaid with sponged rust Brown/earth tones. Crucially, the shoulders feature rare, hand painted cream slip trail relief spiral decorations. The underside features hand incised markings etched directly into the raw clay prior to firing. The design/model shape number 16 is clearly incised in the centre. A cursive studio monogram/artist initial (resembling a stylised cursive S is located just below the number). Height: 4.5 inches approximately. The condition is excellent, collector grade vintage condition there are no chips, cracks, hairline fractures that I can see. A beautifully preserved pristine example.
